Usage
Command flow
YY is the main command and starting point of the workflow.
It provides access to all modules and ensures consistent behavior.
The general sequence is:
- A temporary UCS is defined for positioning
- A profile or shape is selected
- Parameters are entered
- The geometry is created
- Optionally: position, region, or solid
Positioning (UCS)
Positioning defines the reference for creating geometry in 2D or 3D.
A temporary UCS controls:
- origin
- orientation
- extrusion direction
If the current UCS is already correct, press Enter to continue.
Basic controls
- Click: set origin
- Enter: accept current UCS
- X: define X-axis direction
- 3P: define UCS using three points
- F: align to a face and set origin
Axis tools
- ZX: map Z to X
- ZY: map Z to Y
- FXY: flip X and Y
- FZ: flip Z
Shape selection
After positioning:
- YP: parametric shapes (e.g. flat bar, box)
- YS: standardized profiles (e.g. HEA, UNP)
- YM: mathematical shapes
- YG: gears
Transform
After creation, choose:
- Enter: finish
- Position: move / rotate / flip
- Region: create region
- Solid: extrude to 3D solid
Position mode
- Move: L / R / U / D
- Rotate: P / N (15° steps)
- Flip: X / Y
- Enter: continue
Tips
- Relative input works inside positioning (e.g. @10,0)
- Face selection depends on view direction
- Adjustments can always be done afterwards
