Explanatory notes
Interpretation of standard data
Modern standards define main dimensions, but often omit secondary geometry such as radii and flange slopes.
Older standards (e.g. DIN) were more explicit and fully defined the geometry.
Recent standards (e.g. EN 10365:2017) are less conclusive.
As a result, YY includes assumptions for non-critical data where needed.
Scope and completeness
YS focuses on standardized profiles.
Not all standardized shapes are included. Some shapes can be defined more efficiently using YP (parametric), for example square tubes defined by width, height and wall thickness.
Expansion of standards depends on demand.
About the tables
- Tables are grouped by standard
- Each section header indicates both the standard and the YY shape definition
- The image shows the parameter naming
- The table lists:
- column 0: designation
- remaining columns: parameters as shown in the image
